Florida Aquarium Newsletter

Ok where to begin. I've been working on this newsletter project when i get free time. I've been trying to understand InDesign more and learn some of the tools more. When i first started i thought i knew what layout i wanted to go for, which was one that was a mailed out newsletter. Since, i've changed my mind and i'm more close to know which layout i want to go for. i've drawn out a couple layouts on paper to get an idea. below is different layouts i was working with.

First, i'll start with this screen shot below. This was the first i thought of. I wanted to do a front cover i pretty much explained the aquarium and had a summary of all the adventures there. Not sure though of how i want to go about that thought. What i did was used the pen tool to create the shape and took the image i took and added filters in photoshop. Then, resized it.

Here is what i kinda typed up to see how it would look. Not feeling it. I'm still gonna add the logo to the very top and add to see if i like it then, but probably not gonna use this layout. I just think it's way to plain, but then again i'm gonna add to see what it would look like then. Also, for this image i used text warp to have the type curve with the line of the image.

The next two images i have below are screen shots i took from the website of the floor map.
I may crop and add this image somewhere, but not sure of the placement yet.

Here on this image i was trying to see how certain things looked in placement areas. for the page on the left i took an image i took and reduced the opacity so it become the background for that page.

these two pages won't go in this order but for now i just created and made the text boxes so i know what's going where.

Here i added the logo

For this page i created circles and added images to them and added some little designs using the tool to create circles and rectangles

I have wanted i wanted to type to each page. Right now i'm just working on  creating the layout so i can just add the information right in. :)  If something looks to plain i always have to start over with a new page to compare. But now that i have a good idea of what layouts i want i'm gonna finish creating them now and add the info.
